Level of upset :: 4 Business in question :: Morrow Ford Lincoln Mercury in Beaver Falls, PA Complaint :: Sold me a supposed Ford-Backed "Smart Choice" Warranty for $1,500 which I was told would cover any needed repairs for a period of 7 years. I had a problem in the 4th year. I was basically told by Morrow "Sorry, the Smart Choice Warranty" was subbed out to a company that went out of business a while back, you're out of luck. We can't honor the warranty nor can we refund the initial amount paid." I'm out $1,500 just like that w/ no recourse- Ford Motor company washed their hands of it as well by saying, "All Ford dealerships are independently owned and operated, we can't get involved with anything involving warranties sold through a dealership." I'm beyond upset! Level of upset :: 3 Business in question :: Sandy's Magic Touch Cleaners Complaint :: I took my vintage rug into the cleaners to have it dry cleaned. After 2 months of not being able to get it from them, they told me they lost it. It is irreplacable as it has been in my family forever, but they gave me $200 for the loss and I bought a new "cheap" rug. I went into their store the other day to pick up a skirt that had been left there and the woman working told me they actually have my rug. She showed it to me and said that the manager was going to sell it to this oriental rug cleaner for $350 because it was such a neat antique. I told them I want it back now because it is mine and they want me to pay them for it. I told them that I used the $200 already to buy a new rug which the store won't take back now that I've been using it. So I am out the $200 for the rug I bought thinking mine was "lost" when really the cleaners were trying to sell it on the side. Now I am going to have to buy back my own property from them. I don't want this to happen to anyone else, especially when they drop off a personal item that has sentimental value like I did. Level of upset :: 2 Business in question :: Granite Works (St. Louis, MO) Complaint :: Signed agreement for new granite countertops in kitchen. They raised price and said their product wouldn't fit, but refused to refund $1,340 deposit. Reported to Better Business Bureau and MO. Attorney General. BBB has
multiple similar complaints on this company. Level of upset :: 4 Business in question :: Carmen's concrete & tile in Chicago Complaint :: Over the summer I had some renovations done to my home.
They included some concrete work. The sales person came out gave me
the speel & I was sold. & VERY disappointed at what it actual
was. It was just a concrete overlay. About 1/16th thick. They were also
suppose to fix a step that was damge & some cracks. Well not only
did they have do do the job more than once. They didn't do a very good
job at all. The sidewalk underneath was solid concrete & was in
separate sections wiht visible lines. This company went right over that,
never minding this fact & now it's cracking in those areas. To add
salt to the wound there is a crack in the front over 1/4 inch wide &
over 2 ft long & the stair they "repaired" is ALSO cracking
& looks like if someone were to step on it it would break right
off. Level of upset :: 4 Business in question :: MCI phone service Complaint :: I had switched from Verizon to MCI after being sick of
paying high bills. I switch on Nov. 9th 2005 and recieve a phone call
from MCI on Dec. 23 2005 telling me I have to pay the balance on my
bill NOW unless they will shut me off. I had recieved my bill only a
week before and it was not due for another 8 days. They say I NO LONGER
have an account with them but I still owe them money for the days I
was NOT a customer?????? They blamed the switch on Verizon. It WASN'T
Verizon that made the switch MCI allowed someone other than myself to
switch long distance but yet still wanting a payment from me. Needless
to say, they shut me off in 30 min for NO REASOn. Even Verizon had said
what they were doing was AGAINST THE LAW. EXTREMELY LONG story short
and 3 and 1/2 hrs. later, I had to switch back to verizon because out
of 7 and yes I said 7 reps from MCI 4 said I was not a customer and
3 said I was. They had NO IDEA what the hell they were saying . Leaving
us all baffled. This issue is still not yet resolved. Level of upset :: 4 Business in question :: Hubbs Insurance Company Hubbs Insurance Agency Greenville, Mi. AKA Michigan MIllers...
