So does anybody know how bank of america could authorize FOUR purchases transactions which totaled close to $1000 that were purchased with a VISA check card ( debit ) if the checking account was at the time overdrawn by $-68.47.

Is it just so they can collect four $35 NSF fees for these transactions or maybe they think some this account was worthy enough to be extended $1000 credit...

I can see authorizing transactions if the account has a positive balance to begin with but if it is clearly in the red for 48 hours why would they authorize any purchase , there is no money in the account... wtf?

Bank of America continues to rearrange transactions’ posting dates in order to charge maximum number of NSF fees. I just had 5 transactions rearranged in my account, with one posted transaction actually disappearing for a few days only to appear later in order to maximize NSF fees. Bank of America is claiming that the merchant did not present the receipt in time which is not true. Bank of America had electronic receipt from merchant with my verification the day transaction was authorized. Bank of America is engaging in shameful and deceptive practices. Don't walk from this bank, run!

This is my terrible experience with Bank of America below

Dear Comptroller Of the Currency Administrator of National Banks,

I am responding to the complaint I made to your office.

I do not agree with the response from Kristen Mon Goy. I believe they either don’t understand what I have tried to make clear to them or they are attempting to cover up there wrong doings.

They continue to say that they have right to recover the $200 in question from us and in this case our children. When it was not us who took the money but the thief who gained access to our accounts through Bank Of America. When they are at fault for allowing this to happen to us.

Again Please bare with me...what had happen was someone from Texas somehow gained access to our account and opened a second or fictitious account attaching it to ours. Somehow this person said to have deposited $1,200 into the bogus account under our name. We immediately went to our Branch in Morro Bay and spoke with one of its employees a Justine Anderson .We were told this person withdrew around $100 to $200 of what he claimed to have deposited out of Texas. After speaking with the Manager Jason Overacker. They assisted us in closing out the accounts along with the fictitious one with a balance of $0. Its also our understanding that the banks policy is they could not or would not close any account if there were a balance that the system would have blocked them from closing. Which seems to me there wasnt money taken at that time at all actually and may have happened after the accounts were closed. They apologized for the inconvenience then started up new accounts and promised that we would not be liable for what this person had stolen from the account. I questioned if we continued banking with them would they or the thief have a way to access the new accounts. Said there would be no links from the old account that were closed that day to our previous accounts. However we found out later that our kids money from there savings and a little from our savings was missing. So we returned to the bank and Jason Overacker told us it had appeared the Bank reopened the old accounts that were compromised (Like he said they wouldn't )and linked them to our previous accounts and without notifying us took the funds from the kids savings and ours. It look as if the person may have played around with the accounts transferring funds around making it difficult to know what he did. After the bank reopened it without notifying us.

Mr.Jason Overacker made calls in our presents once again and the Bank people on the phone hung up on him as he tried to explain this whole mess. He promised to continue making calls but eventually gave up. This was actually the second time our account were compromised liked this due to Identity theft which we always reported to the sheriff.(waste of time there)Yet the bank gives no explanation how this continues to happen but are quick to cover up. This is an ongoing problem with Bank Of America. They say as long as the kids accounts are linked to our through or socials they have every right to get back the funds in anyway they can. They have no shame at all.Seems every time we enter the Bank Of America Branches there is always people complaining about Id theft and there compromised accounts. As you can also see on blog sites online of the countless people whom have similar complaints as ours. They refuse to return OUR KIDS MONEY that was not there’s to take. The one who owes them the $200 is the thief from Texas why not go after him or her! Don’t they get it we don’t have anything to do with that. We are the victims here. We did not take the $200 dollars in question. So why does the Bank feel WE owe them! Bank Of America are the real thieves!

Comptroller Of the Currency Administrator of National Banks did nothing instead sided with the crooks and closed the complaint. They were incompetent!

The Bitch who refuses to return the funds is

I called bank of America to request transfer balance form my credit card with 0% rate on transfers. This is the first time I am asking such a thing. Conversation was really short and agent told me that funds will be posted to my account in 3 to 4 business days. Well after 6 days I am calling bank and get msg. that account is closed. No one did not bather to inform me and I was waiting for those funds. I had to pay penalty on the other account.
Well funny thing is that firs explanation give to me from the first agent was that they closed my credit card due to inactivity. Since I asked for transfer two days before my account is closed you all can get the picture of me being puzzled. Then after talking to four more agents finally manager get to talk to me and "explain" to me that due to their procedure of reviewing accounts they decide that I have enough debt and they are closing my account. Lets just say that I am 10 yrs. bofa customer with never been late on any payment with credit guard service with bank of America and credit score (checked today) of 759. They also frizzed my credit line with zero balance. They told me that I can reapply for my credit card.
My decision is ....F*** your self. There must be some other banks in the world that care about customers and not just to cash in bail money from government (tax-payers like myself). Wondering what they do with that money since I heard of couple of my friends that they got scrued by bofa recently and bofa is charging
them 24% interest on balances. It got to be law against them.
Just reminder: we bailed them but they are not even American bank. They are owned by Italian (Vatican) money

My husband and I have both personal and a small business account with BOA and for the second time in the past 4 months they have manipulated our accounts so they could charge us OD fees. The first time after arguing with them on the phone they agreed to reduce the fees they charged me for they held a check issued by a state agency (which according to our online access had posted prior to issuing bill payments, if I had only made a screen print). This time they back dated bill payment prior to a cash deposit (my account was OD 4.76). When questioned on their action on this account they stated because of the previous charge reduction they wouldn't waive the fee. On the same date, our business account had enough funds to cover our expenses but they decided they were going to charge us a maintenence fee. WE WERE NEVER NOTIFIED THAT THIS WAS TO HAPPEN and due to this, our account overdrafted 4.12. When questioned they stated oh, well we mailed this information to you last month. We stated we were never notified and our online notification stated the day you charged the fee we had ample enough funds to cover our monthly merchant account charges but due to YOUR FEE we were deficient. They said oh well and refused to waive the fee. We also questioned why Wal-Mart could verify a personal checking account funds in a couple of minutes or less but they couldn't verify funds within the day of deposit? They refused to answer the question and gave us a hateful look.

Also, when we visit our local branch in RADFORD VA the staff is now very unfriendly, limited and unwilling to assist you in any manner. We are closing our accounts within the month and moving to another bank thanks to this situation along with our inlaws (they have had it with them too!!!). We have banked as a married couple with this branch for over 21 years and my husband's family even longer than that. So I hope they are happy with the $70.00 for after we pay off our debts with them they will NEVER get another dime from us or anyone else in our family!

I helped my dad call BoA to ask for a lower interest rate (he doesn\'t speak English well) on his credit cards, and my dad had called earlier this month, but he didn\'t really understand. So I was talking to this lady, and she pretty much said that he wasn\'t qualified for a lower interest rate, and can only be if he pays on time. (which he does, but I didn\'t know that until after the call because my dad went to the store right after the caller person talked to him to let me talk about his account- so what is this lady talking about???} She seemed nice, until she realized that his account was in a lot of debt and that BoA had canceled his card. I understand canceling the cards, but damn, her attitude was totally different. And then I asked her what we can do, she pretty much said there\'s nothing to do. And then I asked for a supervisor, and she said she was the highest I could go. And then I started saying that she was not helpful, and as I was about to say I wan
ted to speak to someone else, she hangs up on me. HANGS UP. And then I call back, and ask for the person I was talking to so I could complain about her, they said they have no record of the call. Of course there\'s no record. She probably didn\'t submit it because she hung up on me. Really? I mean, right now, some many people are in trouble, and she has the audacity to hang up on me and not let me talk to some one above her? I did not believe her at all that she was the supervisor. So they gave me an address that I can send a letter to, but that really does no good because its not like they can find out who it is. I can\'t believe them. My whole family is at BoA and I will definitely move them, and tell EVERYONE NOT to use BoA. Just because they are the only ones surviving this crisis, doesn\'t mean they can treat people like crap. I can't believe them.

There is nothing I can do except warn everyone about the horrible customer service BoA provides.
